Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BhooMap Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("we") collects and uses personal data on BhooMap (http://localhost:3000), in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Data we collect

• Account: mobile number (for one-time-password login), name and, if you give it, email address.
• Listings: property details, boundaries, photos and documents you upload as a Seller.
• Activity: listings you view, save, enquire about or reveal contacts for; saved searches and alerts.
• Payments: plan, amount, dates and payment reference IDs. Card, UPI and bank details are collected and stored by Razorpay, not by us.
• Technical: IP address, device and browser type, and a login cookie needed to keep you signed in.

2. Why we use it

• To create your account and sign you in.
• To show, moderate and promote listings, and to verify sellers.
• To connect Buyers and Sellers: when you reveal a seller's contact or send an enquiry, your name and phone number are shared with that seller.
• To process subscriptions, issue invoices and meet tax and legal obligations.
• To send alerts you asked for (new listings, enquiries) and service messages.
• To keep the Platform safe: preventing fraud, spam and abuse, and enforcing our Terms.
• To improve the Platform using aggregated usage statistics.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Consent and your choices

By signing up you consent to the uses above. You can withdraw consent, turn off alerts, or ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [grievance email]. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and some records (such as invoices) must be kept by law.

4. Who we share data with

• Sellers or Buyers, only as described in section 2.
• Service providers who process data for us under contract: cloud hosting, file storage, SMS/OTP delivery, email, payments (Razorpay), maps and voice-over generation.
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. After deletion we remove or anonymise personal data within 30 days, except records we must retain by law (for example, tax invoices for 8 years).

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity, and raise a grievance. We respond within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS); sensitive settings are encrypted at rest; access is limited to staff who need it. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

8. Children

The Platform is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. If we add analytics, we will list the provider here.
